This summer I toured ‘The Plant’ in Chicago with a few friends. The Plant is an old meatpacking facility that is being transformed to house many sustainable food businesses so their systems can integrate in order to use each other’s waste (the output of one system is the input to another). This is systems thinking in action. The food businesses will also be able to share resources, ideas, name-power of the site, and political clout. Not all the ideas are proven, but they’re making an honest effort of it, and I think we’ll see some pretty cool ideas rise to the surface. http://www.plantchicago.com/
